My life changed the day I discovered Greek yogurt. I thought I had died and gone to creamy, tangy, protein & calcium rich-Heaven.
I add it to soups, pasta, cookies, breads, absolutely anything and everything, as well as eat it plain. I think it stems from my love of sour cream and all things rich and creamy (aside from milk, which I have yet to taste).
Now I have found something better, if not at least equal to the glorious Greek yogurt. Skyr.
Skyr is Icelandic yogurt, technically it is a cheese, but don't let that sideline you.
It is made from skim-milk (the fat being removed for butter,mmm...), then strained similar to Greek yogurt; which is where we get the custard-style goodness.
It is still priced a little higher than Greek, but worth trying out and getting hooked. I have been buying Siggi's and I do believe it will be the only brand you can find in the middle part of the country.
And just how much do you love their packaging and logo?!?!?
