I am still addicted to Food Network, I am still on Williams Sonoma wish-listing products, and every blog I read is still about food and wine.
So Why No posts on MB? Why pictures of flowers, not food? Where, oh where did my vino go?
Simple, the lady is with child. Very exciting, very life-altering, very inconvenient for a foodie/wine guzzling gal like myself.
Alas, I will be celebrating the Holidays with champagne, wine, and fun cocktails when it's really cold out (because there is something so right about hot toddies even when your throat feels just fine).
But today I'm in Rockport, MA and will be here for the rest of the summer. It's not Oklahoma hot here, the sea is different than anything I've been exposed to, maybe because I realize all the history and New England culture that has developed here....or maybe I'm just not used to Northeast beaches, but I love it. Really, it is no Mexico or Miami, but it is special in it's own right.
On the trip to Boston, we ate ribs in Memphis, Catfish & Coleslaw in Nashville, and baseball-sized Crab Cakes in Baltimore.
T paired the ribs with a house brew, the catfish with Sam Adams Summer Ale, and the world's meatiest crab cake with a spicy Bloody Mary.
Did I mention how much easier life was with that car sick feeling I had in the first few months of pregnancy? Wine smelled offensive, fresh ground coffee made me gag, and the thought of crispy salads topped with Roquefort sent me spinning.
Maybe God knows what he is doing with that whole nausea-for-the-first-3-months gig. There was no longing for stinky cheese, wine, and oysters.....now I'm obsessed. And though I treated myself to Massachusett's finest homemade donuts this morning.....there was just something missing;BLACK COFFEE.
